The Operation

Hello. Just to let u guys know. I fell on Saturday and fractured my wrist. To be more precise, I fractured my scaphoid which is at the base of your thumb. I didn't really know that it was a fracture so I didn't think much of it until trng finished. So mum took me to sports council and Dr. cormac referred me to NUH cos his friend works there as a hand surgeon. I had my cast done on sat just to keep the bones in place. So I went to NUH today again and Dr. Aymeric Lim decided to put a screw in so it'll heal faster and it was done under local anesthetic so throughout the whole procedure I was awake. Couldn't feel a thing except that my forearm was awfully cold and hot at the same time. The worst part was when he inserted 2 needles in each arm for the medicine and the anesthetic. The whole op was done in an hour and I went home after that. However, when the anesthetic wore off I felt the full blow of the pain.. AND IT HURT DAMN BLOODY BADLY. The doc gave me some photos/x-rays as a souvenir.

The first week/ Commonwealth

Its the first week of training and its starting off with all the easy sets. You know the normal stuff lots of drills and technique based workouts just to get back into shape. Nothing much has been happening after I came back, more of like trying to get back to reality if that's the only thing that has been going through my mind. School's starting and its a brand new 12 weeks of mad ass training coming up so I'm kinda excited and on the other hand, apprehensive. Not knowing what the outcome will be like. But as they always say "Its not the destination but the journey that counts." So I'll try and keep that in mind whenever I feel like I'm going to falter. Alright, that's that.

Commonwealth Games was fantastic. It was so much fun! Even though we didn't have a TV (yup, that's right. NO TV) , we found other sources of entertainment, Bridge, Taiti, just plain walking around the village enjoying the scenery. the place was huge! though jos and gary said the one at Athen's was even bigger. the dining hall was jiga-ginormous!!! there were lots of variety and best of all, it was open 24hrs! Bryan and I looked at each other when we heard that.. yeahhhh we had our share of ice cream, cookies, mini strawberry-filled-sugar doughnuts (my favourite), FREE-FLOW of drinks! there was a mini cafe, hot chocolate machine (no more sleepless nights!), 4 huge refridgerators of Gatorade, water, lemonade, pepsi, marinda orange and a juice bar. Oh not to mention they had a spanking good salad bar, mind you the veggies were awesome and i'm not much of a veggie guy.

Then there was my favourite one. The pizza stall. mama-mia! Hawaiian! Meat-lover! Funghi! Rabbit-food(vegetarian-bleughh) best of all there were dessert pizzas! my favourite one was the Banana wth chocolate and custard. then i add the butterscotch sauce over it.. it was orgasmicc.. bloody good. AND to top it off. I DIDN'T EVEN GAIN A SINGLE POUND.

We went to just chill at this bar in town. Transit. but we call it the turning-T cos there was this huge T on the top that kept turning. nice place. Downed a couple of beers plus a whole lot of shots. by the end of it, I was jolly high. Like way way way high.. haha, but all in good fun. so screw it.

Ahh The Commonwealth. It'll be one of the meets that i'll remember for life..

HEY! This shall be my new blog from now on cos stupid diary-x crashed on me. Anyway, we just came back from Commonwealth Games today and I can only summaries the whole experience in 1 word. Awesome. Its unbelievable. I was walking one day and I saw this poster that said, "The world's best athletes backed by the worlds' best supporters." it is so true. the crowd is fantastic! the roar is so loud that i can hear them underwater! its deafening!
